Your job could give you a heart attack
A Belgian study of 14,000 middle-aged men found that a lack of support from one's boss or coworkers raised risk of heart attack. The participants filled out a job-strain questionnaire at the start of the study, and the researchers followed up with them three years later. After controlling for heart disease risk factors, such as smoking and diabetes, they found that low social support in the office can up the risk of a heart attack or the need for heart surgery. They wrote that their study "underscores the importance of a supportive social work environment in the prevention of coronary heart disease."
