It’s best to respond to a stroke within three hours

The time it takes for stroke victims to get to an emergency facility and receive treatment may influence how much damage is sustained in the brain. Studies have found that 42 percent of people experiencing symptoms of stroke wait as long as 24 hours before they see a physician, with 13 hours as the average. Life-saving medications given within the crucial three-hour window following the onset of symptoms such as slurred speech, weakness and numbness on one side of the body, loss of vision, balance problems, and headache, can improve the outcome of people experiencing blood clots to the brain.
