Radioactivity can be attached to certain medications to kill cancer cells
Conventional radiation treatments aim cancer-killing rays from outside the body. But they will also damage healthy cells anywhere along the beam’s path. The newest strategy in the fight against cancer however, is harnessing the power of radiation by linking it to targeted drug therapy, medications designed to hone in on the cancer cells while sparing healthy ones. This strategy is now being used to treat a certain type of lymphoma.
