You may be taking more than the recommended dose of painkiller
Many people use prescription and over-the-counter non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for pain. But they may be taking more than the recommended dose without even knowing it. They may be taking several different medications that contain NSAIDs; they may be taking too many NSAIDs at one time; or they may be taking these medications too frequently over the course of a day. People are unaware that overusing common pain relievers can cause gastrointestinal complications such as bleeding and ulcers. It is best to consult with a doctor or pharmacist to become aware of all prescription and over-the-counter medications you are taking, so that they can help you to choose the best medications for your pain.
